I'm British and wish to apply for a visa for my wife from Afghanistan. We have one son together.
I'm a carer for my father who receives enhanced rate Personal Independence Payment. I believe I need to show I have adequate maintenance and accommodation and don't need to show that I earn the £18,600.
I don't think my calculations are correct and was wondering whether anyone could help.
From what I have read online I need to show A minus B is greater than or equal to C.
A - Income received (weekly figures)
£21.05 - Child benefit
£112 - Universal Credit
£67.25 - Carer's allowance
= £200
B - Accommodation
I live with my father who receives income support for accommodation. I do not pay for anything. Do I need to add the figure my father is paying?
No council tax as I am a full-time carer.
C- Income support amount
I looked at the figures on rightsnet 2020 - 2021 (not sure if it is right?):
Couple – both over 18 - £116.80
Children-family premium- £17.60
Children-personal allowance- £68.27
= 202.67
It doesn't look like I can make it
