Tier 2 - IHS query

Post by MSJJ » Fri Oct 23, 2020 7:59 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently on a Tier-2 general dependent visa and am applying to move to a Tier 2 General (Main applicant visa)

My husband is currently on the Tier -2 General visa currently and plans to take some time off from work and so I am applying to become a main applicant.

On the visa application, I was asked if I have any relatives in the UK and I mentioned - Yes and stated that my spouse is in the UK on a temporary visa. When I was redirected to the IHS page to pay the Health Surcharge the following question is asked,

Are you applying to join or remain with a person already in the UK? (You don't need to add this person's details if they are a UK or EEA citizen.) - I'm worried if I answer 'yes' it would mean that I'm applying to be a dependant of someone who is already in the UK.

Can someone please clarify?

If I answer yes, it is asking for my husband's IHS number and visa expiry date. (I have both these details with me. I'm just worried if I answer 'yes' if it would mean I'm applying as a dependant? )

As you have mentioned its your own application to become Tier 2 Migrant from being Tier 2 Dependant. Then this irrelevant to mention anything about your partner detail.

For the application purpose you should answer No and carry on.
