UK spouse visa accomodation requirement for friend

Post by okhajut » Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:05 pm

My sister is applying for UK spouse. She is trying to find accomodation where the landlord will give letter that she can use for her husband's UK spouse visa application, but the few landlords and estate agents she has met yet don't go ahead with tenancy when they finds this out. This is due to them not know anything about UK spouse visa process which they think will be a hassle for them.

I live in rented accomodation in a city 150 miles away from her. Can I get a letter from my landlord that can be used to support her application's accomodation requirements?

My sister's husband is also my friend.

They all are fully cognizant about that rather are excessively remain afraid regarding property repossession due to the pendulum swing back into the tenant favour by virtue of covid19 temporary concession

That will spontaneously be flagged up and clearly unveil as the arrangements are contrived for merely securing the visa. Alternatively, she can even become a lodger at immediate vicinity of her workplace.

If my sister is having trouble finding accomodation at this time and needs to apply for visa and has met all other requirements, why should it be a trouble if my landlord is willing to accomodate her husband?

What do you mean by temporary covid19 concession?

How is she fulfilling the financial requirement; cash savings or paye job? If job then is she working from home, if not then how far is her actual workplace from you?

She has job and cash savings. She lives 150 miles from me. The only thing is that I have recently applied for spouse visa myself and it was approved. My current house has had housing report and letter from landord as evidence. Therefore, I was wondering if my house can become evidence for her spouse accomodation requirement.

She cannot use the current accomodation she is living in with our parents (150 miles from my house) since it will become overcrowded. She wants to move out and get her own place but if she rents a place and the landlord does not give her letter then it will be a waste. She wants to submit the application before end of the year.

The only problem is that, the few properties she has seen so far in last few weeks, the landlord simply refused to be involved in anything related to visa or home office. I have had same issue when I was looking for property until I found the one I am living in currently. I don't know how long it will take for her to find place to live in that can help with her spouse visa requirement.

My sister meets ALL the requirements for the visa application. Just getting a place on rent which can provide documentation for spouse visa is the problem so far. I want to know if I can help her, if not, she will just have to continue looking until she can find something suiable.
