Tier 2 to Settlement

Hi everyone, just read that the settlement criteria salary which is £35.8k and in the year 2023 was to be set at £38.8k is now abolished? And the salary threshold is cut off by 30% to £25600 !!!

Is this for all tier 2 holders or just on the shortage list ? I know there’s not a lot of information but if anyone knows anything more or would like to discuss about this please reply

Under the new pbs route, you will still have to be paid at the rate stated in the SOC.

As far as we are aware, only shortage occupation jobs are exempt from ILR salary threshold.

As far as I understand that "going rate" will only be considered for ILR. If you don't meet the salary equal to going rate it will be refused. But no idea if this is applies to current Tier 2 holders.

As per my understanding, the new rules after Dec 1 will be applied to all existing Tier 2 (General) workers who is extending their stay as skilled worker and applying for ILR.

Hello, hope you’re all well sailing through.

My Tier 2 visa was for 3 years starting from Nov18 to Nov21, it’s due for extension soon I would like some advice on extension if I can extend for 2 years ,2.5 or 3 years as I qualify for ILR in 2023 November, if I extend for 2 to 2.5 years I can save up on IHS for the additional period and apply for ILR if that makes sense ?

SW 18.1.

The applicant will be granted entry clearance or permission to stay until 14 days after the end date of their certificate of sponsorship (which may be up to a maximum of 5 years after the start date of their certificate of sponsorship).
