Switched WP to Tier 1 -> Can I continue with same job??

All,

I came to this country on WP and I switched from WP to Tier1 but I have not informed to my company.Some of my friends are saying you can't continue with same job as you have changed your visa status.As per them I need to inform my company and get my status change in home office otherwise I will face issues while extention.


Any body have any idea about this ??

When you got your tier1 your WP was cancelled by home office automatically. Its upto you to inform your employer, while it is not illegal to continue to work for them, you might have to inform them about your change in circumstances if it is a company policy and the contract you signed with them.

When you got your tier1 your WP was cancelled by home office automatically. Its upto you to inform your employer, while it is not illegal to continue to work for them, you might have to inform them about your change in circumstances if it is a company policy and the contract you signed with them.

I don't see how that is going to be within the contract. In any case, the HO will probably inform the employer eventually and you don't want an embarassing moment with the employer if he thinks you are not covered legally to work in his employ even though you are.

Honestly do you think HO is going to be bothered to do anything. They can just about barely process all the application. While its not mandatory to inform your employer, its better to do it.
