Medical Insurance

Post by kesh1 » Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:46 pm

Hi All

Hope some one could help me on this.
My mother is visiting me soon(on 6 months visitor visa), I need to know if she needs medical insurance befor landing UK. I know the fact that she is not eligible to take treatment from NHS if she falls sick during her stay(less than one month ).
Could some one advice me on this please?.

If she has to take medical insurance, is there any compnay that does visitors medical insurance?.

Many thanks

It is advisable for her to obtain travel insurance prior to her departure for the UK. This is best sought from an appropriate provider from her home country. Not sure if she would be able to obtain insurance from a UK company until she physically arrives in the country. Best to go through your Yellow Pages and verify rates/ conditions with relevant organisations e.g. BUPA etc.
