Made mistake on application, IHS paid

Post by Voltron » Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:02 pm

Hi All,

Feel so stupid that made such a big error.
I am a British citizen and applying for spouse visa extension. Also have a baby who was born in UK, so British citizen.

Went through online application for spouse visa extensions and paid Immigration Health Surcharge, however I made an absolute error in that I have put down my child in application, as I thought had to put her details, but it has turned out that it has put baby as a Dependent child on a family route.

I have paid the IHS, and the application now wants me to pay the application fee for both my wife, and child. It is not giving me the option of editing application.

Feel so stupid for doing this wrong, have been through alot of stress lately due to lockdown and this has just totally depressed me. Will phone the UK visa contact centre tomorrow, but does anyone know if I will get a refund of the IHS charge? Or if the can just remove my child part from application or will need to start a new application.

Regards

If you haven't yet submitted the application which is no longer editable then simply eschew that application with new one and ask the refunds of IHS at the email in the link:

Thanks for the link.

I have paid the IHS, but not the application fee.

Sorry not sure what you mean by eschew, do you mean disregard this application, email for a IHS refund, and start a brand new application?

Just to confirm, I am a British citizen who is the sponsor applying for a spouse visa extension, with a child born in UK from my wife after we got married, who is the applicant. I should not put my child down as a dependent on the application as she has a British passport, therefore the only fees I should pay are the IHS for wife, and application fee for wife.

Can't blame anyone but myself, should have joined this forum long time ago and clarified all questions before applying.

Correct. For own mental satisfaction and making the application free from all errors/mistakes.
