Right to Work (ILR in expired passport)

I wonder if there's anyone here who could advise:
Due to the current Covid situation, I am unable to go for the premium service to get my ILR vignette transferred to a BRP as proof of right to work. I have recently been made redundant and thus been seeking a new job. Should I inform my potential employer that they should conduct the online verification of my right to work as my application is still pending, or are employers generally not open to hiring those without BRPs?
My biometric appointment was on 7 Oct, and to date, I have not yet received any outcome. Thus I am bracing for the worst --> 6 months waiting time.

Just a quick update: by coincidence I received an email from the HO that my application to transfer my ILR to BRP is successful and I should receive my BRP within 7 working days.

I hope my timeline below will be helpful for those looking to transfer their ILR from an expired passport to BRP. For context, I have held my ILR since 2008 so I needed to prove to HO my continuous stay in the UK since then in order to be able to transfer the vignette to BRP.

Application online: 15 Sep 2020
Docs upload: 23 Sep 2020
Biometric in person appt: 7 Oct 2020
Email reg decision: 10 Nov 2020
BRP receipt: Awaited...

Also, I spoke with a potential employer who agreed to do the online ECS and they didn't seem taken aback by this at all. On the contrary, they seemed completely fine about doing the RTW check via this route.
