Which visa do i need or what the best way to start about it

Post by Lowlander50 » Thu Nov 12, 2020 3:02 am

I'm from belgium, I've met someone in the UK 5 years ago,
we've met alot of times but we finally decided to live together permanent,
and I ofcourse want to be able to work whilst I live with her.
I would move to the UK(ipswich). I'm 28 years of age.

I'm moving to the UK as a holiday on the 23th of december till 8 January.
And was planning on giving up the job here and move to her in March,
we are just not sure what visa to apply for , or what to get,
or if I can get kicked out the country if I go and live with her
in March and then we start applying, we're definitelly a bit lost.
I'm here in the chat till you can help me thanks alot!

Yes. If you are Belgium, i.e. currently a relevant EEA citizen, then it’s beneficial to arrive in the UK before the specified date, i.e. 2300 GMT on 31 December 2020, and apply for pre-settled status ASAP, i.e immediately after arriving, under EU14.

Thanks alot Vinny, i've looked alot of information up and that seems indeed an amazing way to do it.
If I arrive 23th december can I apply straight away? Would it take ages for a response?
And would it matter that I go back to belgium 8th January 2021 to sort everything out?

Thanks alot buddy!!
