Except the A2/B1 English language test and 2 years of cohabitation evidences, everything else will almost be remained same as was previously.

Hi, thank you for those links.

So, am i correct in saying it's the following that need to be submitted then:

- Applicants Passport
- Applicants Biometric Card
- Applicants ID Card
- Applicants 2 Passport Sized Photos
- Sponsors Passport
- Sponsors 1 Passport Sized Photos
- Marriage Certificate with English Translation
- A2 English Language Test Certificate
- Employment contract (Minimum £18,600)
- Payslips (6 months)
- P60
- Bank Statements (6 Months)
- If you have any children, their passport and birth certificates
- Copy of Land Registry or Tenancy Agreement
- Council Tax Bill
- Other Bills (gas, electric, water, phone ... )
- Other documents with name and address, joint and separate names (at least 6 documents)

I will need to apply for the extension in a few months time.

There is some questions I have with relation to the documents that need submitting:

1. With relation to the english test, i was under the impression it is the A2, can the applicant take the B1 instead?

2. Which is preferred A2 or B1, and how and where can i book the test?

2. With relation to the P60, if I'm applying for the extension next year, will i need both - 2020 and 2021 P60 or just one?

3. Do the documents need to be attested?

4. If sponsor and applicant are living with family, there's not many bills, letters and documents they will have in their name so is that okay?

5. How long before does the applicant need to apply?

Thank you.

- Applicants ID Card
- Applicants 2 Passport Sized Photos

- Sponsors 1 Passport Sized Photos
Above aren't needed at all.

1. B1 is even more better for its usability in future too.
2. Dont attach p60 as your payslips, bank statements and employer letter will be suffice.
3. No
4.Any letter/correspondence from any credible source will be accepted
5.Anytime after completing 30 months minus 28 days from the time of arriving into UK till the last day of expiry.

Hi seagul. hope you're well. i have a question regarding that last point you've mentioned i.e. "...minus 28 days".
I am in the process of submitting my wife's FLR(M) app. her BRP expires on 16th november 2020 and she arrive in the UK in Feb 2018 i.e. 32 months ago. Last night i paid for her application on the Gov.uk website (appointment is yet to be booked and documents are yet to be sent). does the fact that i've paid for it mean I've submitted it? i'm just weary of falling foul of this 28 day rule. thanks!

Hello again,

I have another question relating to the documents for the spouse visa extension...

I have a child but they don't have a passport and will not have one when I apply for my partner's extension, but they will have a birth certificate.

Can you please advise if a birth certificate will do or do i need to apply for a passport for the child as well?

Thanks in advance.

Absence of child passport wont be impactful over your partner's extension despite it would be asked in generic checklist.

Hi,

Sorry, me again...

You stated that the B1 is better to take than the A2 as i can use it for future i.e. for ILR.

Will the B1 be valid when i apply for ILR as i believe there is an expiration?

Thanks

Yes it (B1) would be accepted for ILR despite being expired by then provided was used previously in the successful grant of visa.
