FLR(M) Application questions

Post by zaink257 » Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:19 pm

Hi all, hope you are all doing well.

I will be applying for my wife's spouse visa extension soon and I wanted to get some guidance on few things.

I am a British National (Pakistani origin) and my wife is from Pakistan. She was first granted spouse visa in March 2018 and her visa is now due for extension on the 15th December 2020.

Firstly, my question is about time spent outside of the UK. She spent some time in Pakistan (from 15/11/2019 to 16/03/2020) on her own to complete her academic studies. Later in the year she got pregnant and we travelled together from 26/07/2020 till now to Pakistan to spent time with her parents during her early pregnancy. I was working from home since March so I was able to travel with her and continue by work while living in Pakistan. We are now looking to travel back at the end of the month and apply for extension and have the baby in the UK. As far as I am aware there is no limit of absence from UK for FLR application as a british spouse. Would these absences cause any issues for the extension?

Secondly, I wanted to ask about the english test requirement. Since we are travelling back to the UK few weeks before my wife's visa expires and we will be required to quarantine for 2 weeks, she won't be able to go and complete for A2 test and get the certificate back in time. My question was, do we need to provide the certificate with the application or is a reference number of passed A2 test enough for the application? My wife has a degree in English Literature from Pakistan, can we use this instead as evidence for english requirement?

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. No absence threshold
2. Yes get it assessed through NARIC without leaving the home in lieu of any English test.
