From ICT cooling off to General Tier 2

Hello everyone,

My Tier 2 ICT visa expired in June and since then I left the UK to start the cooling off period. I'm currently in Portugal where my company applied for a work visa while I wait.

I know that starting next year, there will be a path from ICT to general Tier 2 without the need to leave but what about someone like me who is already in the cooling off period abroad? Will I be able to shorten this period and apply for the new visa in January? Is there an application form for that?
