PBS Dependent Extension - Main Application ILR Set(O) Awaiting Decision

Post by PR002 » Sat Nov 07, 2020 9:58 am

Hi folks,

I was wondering if you could help shed some light on my questions on my wife and daughter`s dependent VISA.

Main Application: Tier 2 General to ILR Set (O) - Application & Biometric submitted, awaiting decision

My wife and daughter do not qualify for ILR and their visa expires by end of this month (my Tier 2 general expirty date). I understand that even whilst my ILR is being processed, we can submit an application with a cover letter. Wondering if our expert could answer some of my questions below,

1. Main Application ILR in Progress: Because it is Set (O), i understand we can apply for Tier 2 PBS Dependent extension and does not have to apply as ILR Dependent. Is that true?
2. What would be the category to apply for Tier 2 Dependent extension? I couldnt find an extension category in the website. It is very confusing to me to select the correct category.
3. GIven Main Application's ILR is still under process, what additional details needs to be provided?
4. Can someone guide us on documentation required to process the dependent visa applications?
5. What is the min and max time to extend the visa? is it 3 years or 5 years?

Appreciate your inputs on this.

Thanks in advance.

1. PBS dependent visa yes.

2. https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/family-members and

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... 1577027492

3. Cover letter with your ilr application reference etc.

4. Passports, brps, 90 days maintenance funds of £630 for each dependent, 2 years evidence of cohabitation in both your names.

5. It is a 3 year extension

If your ilr fails, their extension will also fail.

Thanks Culinan, this is very helpful.

We tried to create an application but now stuck with IHS. My wife selected her VISA route as PBS Depedendent and VISA type Tier 2 General Shortage occupation upto 3 years (we are looking for 3 year extension) and the same types for my daughter as well.

However for the "main applicant they are joining" it is asking for VISA expiry date and assuming it is the current Tier 2 General expiry which is end of hte month, it is showing £0 in the payment summary page. I have couple of questions,

1. Should my wife and dependent select a different VISA route and VISA type? There was another VISA route Tier 2 PBS dependent but dint make any difference in the VISA type?

2. For the main applicant`s VISA expiry date what date should be entered given Main applicant`s ILR is in progress and decision not received yet? If we give Tier 2 General Expiry date which is end of this month, it shows £0.

Would be really greatful for the help.

Thanks

Was your SOC a shortage occupation?

Put an expiry date 3 years ahead, ie X November 2023.

PBS dependent and tier 2 dependent is the same thing.
2. For the main applicant`s VISA expiry date what date should be entered given Main applicant`s ILR is in progress and decision not received yet? If we give Tier 2 General Expiry date which is end of this month, it shows £0.

Thanks very much CR001.

Re your question, yes it is under the Shortage Occupation list. Just one question re the VISA type, should we select Tier 2 General Shortage Occupation upto 3 years or over 3 years? Not sure what the difference would be? Main Applicant`s Tier 2 G Shortage occupation is for 5 years hence the question.

Also for the main applicant details, there`s a question "Do you have their IHS number". Should i give the Tier 2 G IHS number or leave it blank as ILR application is in progress and it doesnt have IHS?

Thanks for your help.
