After Tier 1 Approval and then Time Limit on entering UK

Post by sbutt » Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:38 pm

Hi All,
I have got my Tier 1 (General) application accepted last week, and now I'm kind of confused about when to go to the UK for work.

My current situation is that I'm living and working in Germany, but have my plans to finally relocate to the UK for good and that is why I applied for the Tier 1 visa:).

But now the problem is that I don't want to go to the UK without having a job first or in other words I intend to get a job first in the UK (while being in Germany) and only relocate when I have one.

So the confusion I have is that how much time I can spend on this job hunt before I pack my bags? I guess there is some threshold of income/earnings (earned in the UK) that one has to show at the end of the first year (and consequently) of this Tier 1 visa?

So assuming if I get a job after let say 3-4 months from my visa issuance date, wouldn't it be kind of difficult to meet that earnings' threshold requirement after only having worked for 8-9 months? OR the earnings' count down starts only when one actually enters and starts working in the UK?

Is there any maximum time limit until which one can stay in his/her home/resident country before actually entering or start working in the UK?

Any help in this regard shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!
