IHS Refunds for dependants

Post by Pennyd » Mon Nov 23, 2020 3:50 pm

Hi all,

Can someone help with some advice

I came to the UK from Australia on a one year tier 2 Working Visa. My husband and 2 children came as well on dependent Visas which we were required to get for 3 years for them.

I paid 1 year (£400) IHS but they had to pay £1200 each for the 3 years. We were told that it would be refunded when we returned to Australia after 1 year when my visa expired. We have recently returned to Australia (my 1 year visa will expire in December) Is there anything we need to do to claim the refund for the other 2 years IHS for my husband and children or will it happen automatically. I assume their visas will expire when mine does in a few weeks. Is that correct?

Thanks heaps for your help.

Dqo not count on the refund being automatic, you may want to be proactive by contacting the refund team.
