Can Extra income be shown for HSMP points?

Post by mar4680 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 7:27 am

Hi,

I just calculated my HSMP points but unfortunately I am 5 points short of it.
I would like to know, is it possible for me to show an additional source of income, like from a Private Business or is there any other thing that I can do in order to achieve this additional points.

Has anyone faced this situation. Please advise

Thanks
Maroli

Maroli,
You can show extra income but you need to provide the evidence for the same
1. if you are doing any part time work then you need to show the pay slips and bank statements for the same
2.if you have started the business as self employee then need to show registration docs, vat docs, contracts, invoices, taxes etc...

Are you applying from UK or other country...

As long as you can provide presribed evidence to support your claim, I believe you can show not just one extra source of income but multiple sources of income!

Thanks for your replies.

I am working as a Software Engineer full time
And in addition with my CTC, I would like to show the income from a private business (i.e me being a partner in the business) to achieve the HSMP criteria.
I am applying from India.
Can I do this?

On more thing which I need to know is: Currently I have my salary where I am working in one Bank and the Income from the Business goes into another bank account. Should these be present in the same Bank Account or can I show two seperate bank statements and add the total

It does not matter how many banks you are showing...as long as you provide pay slips and bank statements, income tax returns its fine...
