Hope you are fine and doing Great, Sorry for the late reply, actually been and still busy with the new area / environment and in documentation to register with the GP, Migrant Help for some paper work and opening a bank account in the Nation Wide Bank.

Kindly do confirm that I have to write an application ( EMAIL ) to the Home Office to get the work permission ??? like I have to introduce myself with all my personal details like, Full name, Nationality, Port reference number, Date of Birth, Cell number and the current residential address and then i need to tell them that i have completed a year and now i want to apply for the work permission ??? Then i have to tell them that i am having a Bachelors degree in particular field and also need to mention the Jobs / experience i did / had.

Is there any need to send the Photocopies of my Degree / Certificates along with the email ???

Kindly confirm so i can proceed to send an email to the Home Office.

Did you get any reply from the Home Office on your application for the work permission ???

Update: I have now received brp cards after long wait. I’ve also received a letter today that’s says me and my kids are going to be evicted in 28 days. Not the best news for me as we’d have to be moving during festive season but either way I give glory to God.

I have an update regarding my case,

I have been granted 30 months Visa,

Below is my timeline,

Applied for asylum and full asylum support in 2013
Asylum refused and all appeal rights exhausted in 2015
served with section 120 notice , liability to removal in July 2020
made further submissions based on child 7 year rule August 2020
Invitation letter to do biometrics received on child 7th birthday in September 2020
Attended Biometrics towards end of September 2020
Received an email from UKVI on 25th November 2020 informing that BRP cards were being sent and will be delivered by TNT in the next few working days with tracking ref number
Received decision letter from HO sent by Royal mail recorded delivery on 26th November 2020 informing that I have been granted visa Until 11 April 2023 and it included information about Council housing and Benefits and that my asylum support and accommodation will be ending in 28 days from date of decision letter.
I am now awaiting delivery of BRP cards which should be anytime this week.
Would like to say thank you for all your prayers and support during the difficult and painful journey and I would like to encourage those that are still going through the process to keep persevering and never give up because your breakthrough is coming and above all I want give glory to God.

section 95 will only discontinue if I’ll get a job. i need to update the HO if that happens. It took a month for them to give decide. I applied for NASS accommodation recently with eviction date end of July I haven’t received any update for that.

I applied for scholarship (sanctuary scholarships), it will be for undergraduate degree. Asylum seekers can apply for scholarships. Even if you’re granted leave to remain as you won’t be entitled for student loan.

You can also apply for grants/scholarships even you’re on ILR or British however you need to be extraordinary and exceptional to be granted. There’s no harm in trying. Just try and try until you succeed.

Thanks for the update. That’s great news. Fingers crossed you’ll get one in Cambridge. I should get an update as well this month coz my eviction date is 30th of July. Hopefully I get somewhere here as well. We are not very far. It’s quite a relief getting permission to work plus the university. What did the MP say? My solicitor sent that chase letter together with my permission to work letter but HO didn’t say anything about the decision. I will update you with my case. I was surprise they sent the new card with permission to work remark without me sending the old one. It’s tough times for us every single day, but don’t worry we will get there one day!

I did ring Nass last Wednesday and got to hear that accommodation request been success but still didnt received a letter yet. solicitor didnt reply at all from May since she agreed to write a letter regarding delay of decision. I thought to change my solicitor as i'm so disappointed with current solicitor. anyway congratulation ,now you can work. it will reduce your stress of waiting. keep you update once i receive a letter.

I’ve made a decision to stick to my 30 months visa too and withdraw my appeal as I don’t think I’m emotionally strong enough to go through the process.
Please do update us when you receive Your brp because my just says leave to remain but it doesn’t say what type. I’d like to confirm with yours as we have the same visa

Hi Yahas, I believe that response from Home Office was old response, I guess it wasn't updated during Covid, that was the email address I got from Home Office, remember Home Office decision is by luck not by following the right process, moreover the address provided by one of the member is correct, the one that says Permission to Work in Liverpool, I sent application for permission last 2 years to the same address and it was refused within 2weeks, moreover the library is not open, I don't have a printer or phocopy at home, I can't send the original copies to avoid more stress, if I waited for more 2weeks no reply I will look for somewhere to photocopy, I guess no office will allow me in during this pandemic

Update regarding my case, yesterday I received biometric cards from the home office , they were delivered in individual envelopes and one of my dependants card is missing so I have had to report it online on BRP missing page and I am not sure that I will get a response at all from home office so will have to try other means of contacting them to get a quick response because we will not be able to move house without receiving it. Its so difficult to contact the home office nowadays .

I would suggest calling TNT and ask if they hold biometrics. as ours came few days apart.

Also, I do appreciate the hassle of going through another appeal, but remember you already have the current leave in you pocket and the outcome of the appeals wont effect any future extensions. In the contrary if the appeal is allowed, you'll not be in the much expensive route of settlement. and the hassle of renewal your remain every 30 months and costs that comes with it.

Non the less I wish you luck and best wishes.

Hi@Violetsareblue, my dependent with missing BRP is also born here so don't know if its to do with that , I also contacted TNT the day I received the biometrics and they confirmed the number of delivered items and said they did not have anymore item for delivery to our address so went on to report it and I am also waiting for a response they say in 5 working days ( haha)

You have nothing to lose with your appeal should you go ahead with it , like @ Joe said you have already been granted a visa .I think it is worth a try, and see what happens. With asylum you have the benefit of a shorter route to settlement and without the hassle and expense of renewing every 2.5 years. Good luck , I will update any progress regarding the missing Brp.

We had an initial eviction date of 5/11. However it was cancelled as we were not informed and we did not receive the BRP by then. Currently, We're still waiting for the new eviction date letter.

2. After getting the Permission of work, I'll get the new ARC card with written Allowed to work in SOL ??? Kindly also confirm that I need to give biometric again for the new ARC card ???

3. Once I'll receive the New ARC card written Allowed to work in SOL, then I have to go to the nearest Job Centre and can apply for the NI "National Insurance Number" ???
