Leaving UK Voluntarily

Hi

I have overstayed in the UK and wish to leave voluntarily and do not wish to return to the UK. I have an appointment at my Embassy in London to be issued with an SPLP emergency travel document. Does anyone know if this is issued the same day as the appointment and then how many days does it give me to leave the UK?
