Tier2 PBS Dependent- BRP collection

Post by DivyaBattepati » Tue Dec 08, 2020 10:28 am

Hi,
I am a tier 2 ICT long term dependent visa holder. I am employed in a UK based company. I am currently on maternity leave and in India for the duration. My visa is due for renewal soon and I am not in a position to travel back to the UK before the visa expiry date. I am at a risk of losing my job if I do not have a valid visa.

I am aware that I can apply for visa renewal from India, but is there an option for me to get the BRP delivered to India address?
Or
Can I request for a wider date span on my visa vignette stamp so I can travel when I am ready?

Kindly also suggest if there are any alternatives.

Thanks

As far as I am aware, you can only extend your visa from the UK.
Can you post a link which says you could extend your leave outside the UK?
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

You will need to apply for a new entry clearance if you cannot travel back to the UK in time

Hi Poper,

Thanks for your reply.
Apologies , I used the word renewal incorrectly. I meant new visa.

But is there an option for me to get the BRP posted to India address if I apply for a new entry clearance or how do I continue being eligible to hold the job without having to travel just for BRP collection.

Thanks.

Applying outside the UK for entry clearance (ie not a visa extension) means your brp is sent to your nominated post office for collection with your passport and proof of entry stamp. It won't get sent to you in India.

Initial visa vignettes are currently valid for 90 days.

Thank you.
Do you think I can ask for a longer duration vignette as I am unable to travel within 90 days.

Thanks

No. You should plan your application accordingly based on when you can travel. You can request a visa to be dated up to 3 months in advance maximum.

Or apply for a replacement visa vignette if you can't travel on the one issued if you apply, this costs around £200 for any reason other than COVID travel restrictions.

Thank you for your reply. Looks like this is the only option I seem to have.
