Application as non EEA parent of Irish citizen

Post by trippygirl » Sat Dec 12, 2020 3:38 pm

I’m looking for information about how I (non-EEA parent) can apply for naturalisation or an Irish passport as the parent of a dependant Irish child, currently living in Northern Ireland.

A lot of what I have read looks at applying for residence based on Irish child. But would I qualify for this as my Irish child is living in Northern Ireland? We all live in NI. Other parent is also an Irish passport holder but we are separated (not divorced) so I don’t think I could apply under spouse?

Thanks

Maybe you could qualify under Irish association.

I’m not sure what “association” I would come under? I just want to be the same nationality as my children but my country of birth won’t confer nationality on my kids as their father is not from my country.

It also means when we are travelling, we are all on same passports especially as their father will no longer be travelling with us.
