B1 English test or naric certification

Post by fatimahj » Sun Nov 01, 2020 3:50 pm

Hi, someone has told me that even though I have a degree that was taught in English in Pakistan, which can be naric certified, it is ok to just select b1 English test optoon on the online form and not disclose any degree. But will that not be considered hiding info or lying? Can someone clarify what the right approach will be. Thank you.

If you have a valid and approved B1 selt, choose NO to English degree otherwise NARIC will be generated in the checklist which is not the right option to choose (as you do not have NARIC).

All that is required is to select the option you are using to prove English proficiency (B1 in this case).
There is no requirement to disclose a degree as such (no deception).
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

first entry and employment history

Post by fatimahj » Tue Nov 03, 2020 6:26 pm

Hi
I entered my date of first entry in UK 13/11/2014 for my ILR application as calculated my continuous period from this date
Now for my citizenship they again asked date of first entry in UK should I write same date of 13/11/14 as ILR or date of first entry in UK which was 2002 (but after from 2002 to 2014 my stay was not continuous)and considering that Have you had any other work over the past 10 years or since you came to the UK? should I enter my employment history from 13/11/2014 or from 2002 or for 10 years
kindly advise

The first date of entry when you came with the intention of a long stay e.g. study, work etc.
Employment history for last 10 years only.

It is best to cancel your application and resubmit again when you qualify. Usually the CW’s apply discretion and ask the applicant’s to redeclare before right away refusing the application. But if I was you, I would not risk as this is a strict requirement which may cause a refusal if CW did not apply discretion.

Should not be an issue even if referee forms were signed in November.
Each referee should know the applicant personally.
For an adult application, one referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing, eg minister of religion, civil servant, or a member of a professional body e.g. accountant or solicitor (who is not representing you with this application).
For all applications, the second referee must normally be the holder of a British citizen passport and either a professional person or over the age of 25.
Doctor is not considered as a professional person for referees purpose:

https://www.gov.im/media/624353/listofreferees.pdf

You can still use one of them as Referee 2 if he/she is British and over 25.

@CULLINAN does it mean that the referee letters could be signed at any date before or after the application submission, as long as this date is before the biometrics date?

Correct. Ideally it should be closer to the application date with a reasonable time if before application date (not like 6 months old).
