Tourist Visa for Parents 5 Years

Post by usergg083 » Mon Jan 11, 2021 1:42 pm

Hello,

I will soon be applying for a tourist visa for my parents for multi-entry 5 years. My parents age is: 67 Years & 65 Years. They previously received Tourist visa twice and have stayed for two trips (1 month & 3 months). Last trip was in 2018.

My Question is:

My Parents are Retired, They are showing around 50 Lakh in savings + 30 Lakh in Fixed Deposits with two houses. Is this enough to get 5 Years Visa ? Will their age be a problem?

I have heard that UKVI does not consider Fixed Deposits as funds, is that correct?

I have british passport & I will be also be providing a sponsorship letter. Any advice will be really appreciated.

Thanks!

No issues with age. The main thing is that your parents can show ties with their home country. Two houses and 50 lac savings alone are enough. They should provide details and papers for all assets and ties with their home country. Also if they have any family back home will be a plus also.

I am not sure how if they had a 6 months or 2 year visit visa previously. If they are not a frequent traveller, I would suggest you apply for 2 years first. Build up their travel history on that and apply for 5 years later in future.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply this is really appreciated. One more quick question: after getting the Visa if they stay with us for 4-5 months will that be an issue? I am worried that if they stay with us for 4-5 months each trip UKVI will say that on tourist visa they cannot stay with us frequently for this long? is that correct assumption?

Visitor Visa For Father 2 years

Post by usergg083 » Sat Feb 06, 2021 10:58 am

Hello,

I applied 2-years visitor visa for my Father (Age: 67 years) & Mother (Age: 65 years).
My mother received the 2 years visa but my Father only received 6 months visa. We paid for visa fees for 2 years so he should have received 2 years visa? Is it an error in Visa printing or this is normal?

Should I contact UKVI as he should have receive the visa for 2 years and not just 6 months?

Thanks!

There is no guarantee. It is purely CW’s discretion to offer a visa for 6 months even if you applied for 10 year visit visa. Each application is assessed on in its own merits. I have seen this many times before.
If you’re applying for a long-term Standard Visitor visa
You must prove that you’ll only ever be coming to the UK to visit and that you plan to leave at the end of each visit.

You may be given a visa for a shorter period than requested if you do not do this. You will not get a refund of the application fee if you get a shorter visa or your application is refused.

Also:
Your visa may be cancelled if your travel history shows you are repeatedly living in the UK for extended periods.

I would suggest your parents only visit for 3/4 weeks this time. They will be checking your father’s history before offering him a 2 year visa next time. If he lives for an extended period this time lets say 3-4 months, next time could be a possible refusal.

Ask them.
You must provide clear reasons for the decision to grant a visa for a shorter period than that applied for in a covering letter when the passport is returned.
