It's possible to renew the passport with the embassy in London. No need to go home.My husband's Swedish passport is soon expiring and since he can't get home to renew it we're talking about applying for his British passport.
For me, the answer is no. Your immigration status has nothing to do with your husband discoveries about his ancestry and family. As a settled person, you are in the UK on your own merits now. The bar to remove that status is very high. So I don't anticipate that anyone would come after you because your husband applies for a passport especially that there are many dual nationals (EU / British) or British citizens (only) sponsoring family under EU routes due to some dispensation (Lounes, Surinder Singh... etc). So nobody would find it strange that you have a Settled Status and your husband a British passport. It's very common situation and it requires to evaluate the entire immigration history in detail to understand it.will this invalidate my settled status as a family member of an EU person?
