Tier 2 Employer Switch Notice

Hi,

I had applied for switching my employer for Tier 2 General. I had kept a gap of 3 months for new employer start date to get enough time for Notice as it said processing can take upto 8 weeks. I have now got my visa approved and a new BRP faster than expected. I need to serve a notice of 1 month only but i have 2 months before my cos start date. Do i need to hand over my notice immediately as i now have my new BRP or can i wait for a few days before handing my notice so that i can avoid a long employment gap. Please advise.

You can continue working for your previous sponsor until the start date on your new COS / BRP, if your current permission to stay is still valid.

So you can serve notice that matches with your new employer start date and covers your notice period.
