Dependent Children for Spouse Visa

Post by Raj100 » Mon Feb 15, 2021 11:59 pm

Hello,

I am an Indian citizen (the applicant) married to a British citizen. We married in the UK in 2017 and shifted to India.

We both have a child together who is 7 months old and was born in India. Our baby has since acquired British Citizenship.

My question is do I include the child as a dependant under my section on the online form as being the applicant or under the sponsor's details on the application. Or at both places?

I am confused, as if I state the child under the applicant's section of the online form then UKCI might think that the child is from just my side being the applicant and may think they are subject to border control with the financial requirement needing to be higher as a dependant is involved.

So currently I have just mentioned our child as a dependant in the sponsor's section of the online form so UKVI understands and knows that the sole financial responsibility of the dependant is with the sponsor in the UK and so that the child is a British citizen.

Is this correct? Please advice.
