Overstay, Marraige and re entry to US

Hi I entered the US in June 2004. I met a guy, fell in love and married in April 2005. We left the US in May 2005. I had overstayed my holiday visa by 11 months. I had planned on applying for a green card but since we were leaving didn't in the end. We have since seperated and he returned to the US. I have been invited on a holiday there later in the year and am not sure what proceedure needs to be taken to waive the overstay. I have the marriage cert. What should I do?
