Spouse visa financial requirement for self-employed - minimum per month or per full financial year?

Post by CJS92 » Tue Mar 30, 2021 6:41 pm

Hi there,

This may have a simple answer but if I'm wanting to meet the financial requirement for a spouse visa of £18,600 with self-employed earnings, does my evidence need to show that A) I earned at least a certain amount every month? Or B) simply that I earned a total of at least £18,600 in a year?

To clarify: 18600/12 = 1550. Is it important to show that my earnings were AT LEAST £1550 in each month of the last year, or does it not matter at all what the monthly earnings were so long as it all adds up to at least £18,600?

If you are a self employed, you need to rely on NET PROFIT of your most recent financial year.
My opinions should not be constituted as an immigration or legal advice.

So the total amount earned in a year - specific monthly amounts are irrelevant?

As long as your NET PROFIT is £18,600 or more.
