BRP Delays and Right to Rent

Post by jack95 » Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:33 pm

Hi everyone,
My fiance got her acceptance letter on January 19th from the Home Office for her partner visa, and has been waiting for her BRP ever since. We are set to move to a new house on 10th April ahead of her starting her job and have been asked to prove my partner's Right to Rent, but cannot easily do this due to the lack of BRP. So far we have:
  • Given the tenancy check people the link to the Home Office Right to Rent check service, which has not returned anything yet, despite it being 6 days ago
  • Contacted our MP to get him to nudge the Home Office to send out her BRP - he did so last week
Are there any other avenues we can go down to prove my partner's Right to Rent? Can our MP somehow sign a document saying my partner has the Right to Rent or something?
Thanks in advance!
Jack

No. The MP is not a Home Office official. They can send a question to the Home Office as to any delay in the application (which the Home Office generally responds to only if the application was made more than 6 months ago), but they can't issue a letter or documentation stating, giving or confirming any immigration status. That is solely for the Home Office to do.

Is there anything further we can do then?
