FLR(M) Payslips needed for 6 or 12 months???

Post by Aqsa211 » Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:31 pm

Hi,
I have recently submitted my online application for spouse visa extension. I have based the financial requirement on the earnings of both me and my partner, combining both gives us a figure above the threshold of £18600. Me and my partner had been employed for more than 6 months by our current employers. We are paid on an hourly basis. My partner has gross income of £1037.68/month and I earn an average of £650/month. Summing both up for 6 months is £20,252.16.

That means we should be considered under the catagory A, which would require 6 months of payslips for both me and my partner. I selected the option "not continuously below the financial threshold" for both me and my partner during the application, which seems like a wrong choice to me now. After that the checklist required "payslips covering any period of salaried employment during 12 months before the date of application(current and pervious) " for both me and my partner. We only have 6 months of payslips at the moment, as due to the pandemic, we weren't working. I have included a covering letter stating how we meet the financial requirement. But at this moment, I'm very scared about the 12 months payslips.
Please I need some guidance on the whole situation, and any tips on writing the perfect covering letter to explain this situation.
Thank you

It is unfornately the application form itself which confuses many people and ask for people to provide payslips covering 12 months periods. If both of you have been employed for 6 months, you only need 6 months payslips each and that should suffice.

Appendix FM-SE

"2. In respect of salaried employment in the UK (except where paragraph 9 applies), all of the following evidence must be provided:
(a) Payslips covering:
(i) a period of 6 months prior to the date of application if the person has been employed by their current employer for at least 6 months"
My opinions should not be constituted as an immigration or legal advice.
