Hi,
So my tier 5 expires on May 7 and I am heading back to Canada (my home country) on may 6. I am in a relationship with a British citizen and want to be able to spend time with him before I have to go home and do long distance for a good year. The reason I have to go home is for university and my course starts in September, but because my visa expires in May I was wondering if there is any way that I can go home for a month - month and a half and then re enter the uk in beginning of July as a tourist until the beginning of September. I would be able to show ties to Canada as again I have my university classes that I must take starting September as well as two internships (one in October and one in January), I have enough money to support myself without work for those two months, and would have booked a return ticket home. I have also not worked in the UK for over a year as with covid I was not able to get a job.
Should I apply for a standard visitor visa (even though as a Canadian I don't need it) so that I am cleared to enter before I travel? If so, should I mention I am visiting my boyfriend as that may raise red flags?
Would I have a better chance if I applied for a marriage visitor visa (my boyfriend and I are planning on applying for a spouse visa in a year when I am done my university studies, but have not yet entered into partnership). Would a marriage visitor visa be enough to be allowed back in obviously if we plan out a civil partnership before I travel?
