Hi,

I'm in exact situation. I wrote an Urgent email ,I suspect that they have lost documentation they asked for second time coz it didn't exist on the FOI records I requested.
And I have involved my local TD to represent me so we are waiting for response now.
It's so frustrating especially when you see files jumping us on the queue.
Lastly, I will say Limerick people are heavily hit by this.

How do you know flies are jumping you on the cue,
How are people so quick to get their local TD involved in personal issues?

People are posting their timelines on this forum so we can see that cases are not being dealt with in a chronological order.

You can get a local TD involved in any civic matter, including immigration.

Finally got my citizenship certificate
Applied Jan 2019
Second stage June 2019
Approval 4/5/2021
Certificate received 30/06/2021
I am delighted to be an Irish citizen because the country is amazing and people are sweet. This country helped me achieve my dreams.
On the other hand the whole citizenship process is frustrating and full of flaws. There is no check on how they run the whole operation. My close friend applied for British citizenship in Jan 2019 and he got his decision in May 2019,where I waited for 2 and a half years. Rant over!!!
I think members on this forum who are citizens now should speak up about this with our TD's and media as there should be some kind of check and balance on the whole process.I will be doing this personally and implore other users to do so.

My Local TD got a response from the Naturalisation office regarding the certificate. below is a response,
I'm so done that team

Dear Deputy,

Please note that in accordance with Data Protection requirements the information contained herein is to be shared with the applicant only and is not to be disclosed to any third party under any circumstances.

We refer to your email dated June 2021 on behalf of Mr. XXXXX XXXXXX

Person ID: XXXXXX-XX
Application ID: XXXXXXX-CITZ-XX

Mr. XXXXXXX lodged an application for a certificate of Naturalisation with the Citizenship Division of this Department on the XXXXXXXXXXX.

This application is currently being processed with a view to establishing whether the applicant meets the statutory conditions for the granting of naturalisation and it will be submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.

The granting of Irish citizenship through naturalisation is a privilege and an honour which confers certain rights and entitlements not only within the State but also at European Union level and it is important that appropriate procedures are in place to preserve the integrity of the process.

It is recognised that all applicants for citizenship wish to have a decision on their application without delay. The nature of the naturalisation process is such that, for a broad range of reasons, some cases will take longer than others to process. In some instances, completing the necessary checks can take a considerable period of time.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide a time frame regarding how long processing will take.

The Citizenship Division of the Department, like everyone in the State, has been impacted by the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The restrictions imposed have resulted in all Citizenship staff working remotely with minimal access to the Office. These restrictions, which are outside the Division’s control, have resulted in significant delays in dealing with correspondence received in the Office and have had a negative impact on processing times for all applications. The processing of the applications is further impacted by the ability of the Division to contact other bodies, many of whom will be impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

Please be assured that we will revert immediately once a decision has been reached on the application. We appreciate your patience.

Prime example they just randomly copy and paste ...You already have a decision on your citizenship and they send you a text stating that you are in the process of receiving the very approval they've already sent you.
