Tier 1 (General) Application - Maintenance Requirement

I've been in the UK now for the last 2 years as a dependent under my wife who was studying and studied at university level here myself graduated in 2004. I would now like to extend my stay under Tier 1 (general) application.

I do meet the first two main criterias and had a highly skilled job paying over £29K in that period to date. My only problem is that i haven't kept at least £800 in the bank over that period and to that matter over the last 3 months.

I would like to stay for at least another 3 years as im doing a professional qualification in field which my place of work is sponsoring.

I can prove that i've had a steady income over this period, can somebody please advise?
