Postponing visa extention for kids in the Uk

Post by Obi1kanobi » Wed Aug 18, 2021 7:04 pm

I am on a skilled worker visa tier 2. I and my spouse will need to extend soon but wanted to know if it was necessary for the kids to be included considering we don't plan to travel anytime soon. Can their application be made at a later date and would it be a problem when we want to to apply for them?

When do their visa expire?

Not applying for them, will raise queries by UKVI and delay your application.

They expire same time as ours. We have 2 kids born outside the country and one born here.

If they don’t extend in-time with you, then they will become overstayers when their leave expires. Then their extensions may fail under

SW 27.2.
If applying for permission to stay the applicant must not be:
(a) in breach of immigration laws, except that where paragraph 39E applies, that period of overstaying will be disregarded; or
(b) on immigration bail.
Even a UK-born child may have problems.
