Has anyone on here Completed a SET M and got ILR

Post by bigboy » Fri Oct 17, 2008 3:32 pm

Hi,

I have already picked Johns brains about my application for my wifes ILR,

According to the Immigration rules the section which asks about Public Funds, i have been advised to leave it blank for my wife and tick for myself,

Im receiving WTC, CTC and in my wifes name Child Benefit,

Just a quick question for someone was in the same boat as me... Did you tick your own box only..? and left your wifes blank.

The only thing that worried me is if i leave it blank, and then PEO say that i didn't mention the child benefit.

Also, is there a section on the form where i must tell them about my child..?

cheers

You're claiming the Child Benefit...not your wife. John is the expert on this,
I'd recommend you to take his advice.

The Child Benefit is on her name and is paid into my wifes account...

john said that its fine and that does not mean we are on public funds as im on tax credits...

buy i just wanted to make sure from someone who has already done this procedure...

Bigboy, I have already explained that your wife is entitled to claim Child Benefit. If you look at this HMRC webpage and look under the heading of Child Benefit, you will see that possible claimants include :-
A family member of a person who is a UK, Swiss or an EEA national (paragraph 1 in Part 2 of the Schedule to the 2000 Regulations)
-: and you are of course a UK national.
