Seems best. Consider US citizenship too.

If you are a LPR you are expected to live in the US. Any long absence carries the risk of losing your LPR status. If you re-enter the US after an absence longer than 6 months you can be questioned on your ties to the US. If the immigration officer is not satisfied with your answers your LPR status can be revoked (although you can appeal this decision).

How much time have you spent in the US in the last four years? Have you filed US taxes in the last four years? Do you still have an address in the US?

Doesn't sound like US citizenship is an option. In order to obtain her "European" citizenship she must have lived in Europe for a considerable amount of time, while travelling to the US on and off to keep her green card "alive".
