EHIC vs Citizenship

Hi folks,

I have rang HSE today to enquire the eligibility of me being non eu irish resident applying EHIC. HSE has confirmed EHIC is not based on nationality rather than residency in Ireland and me as non eu resident of Ireland is eligible to apply with my PPS number etc.

Question is, will it cause any issues for me applying citizenship down the line?
