T2 Dependents - ILR main applicant

Post by abhi_shek88 » Fri Oct 08, 2021 12:01 pm

Hi,

I have a similar issue. My wife is on PBS dependant which is expiring in Jan 2022. I received my ILR in Jan 2021. Now in order to extend her visa if I go via the link below:
https://apply-to-visit-or-stay-in-the-u ... 9448658fe7

Then when it asks her to enter my details, there is no option to select my current visa status i.e. ILR and only shows Tier1,2,4, etc.

Hence, asking the question again,
1)is it indeed possible to apply for a PBS extension for my wife even though I'm on ILR status now?
2) if yes, and using the same link as above, what visa type should I be using/showing?.

Any help would be much appreciated

DO NOT tag your questions on old posts :!: Choose Tier 2 as the extension is based on your previous status.

Apologies and thanks.

Is that okay, since they ask for my visa details and my previous Tier 2 ws valid only until the same time as my wife's?

And presumably my tier 2 is no longer valid since I have now moved on to an ILR status?

Thanks

update: I went through the form and was very simple and clear to fill through in terms of information. There were clear questions asking if the person who my wife is joining has ILR or British Citizenship and if it was previously a Tier 2 General Visa. My previous visa as I mentioned before was a Tier 2 General Visa

However, we faced a hurdle on the IHS website where it automatically assumes the following even though there were no such questions or options for adding the information on the form before:
For the applicant (my wife) where the answers assumed are uneditable:
Visa Route: Dependant
Visa type: Skilled Worker (dependant)

For the person she is joining (i.e myself):
Visa Route: Only applicable one was Tier 2. Other was PBS Dependant Tier 1,2 or 5
Visa type: Showed only Tier 2 ICT variations if I select visa route as 'Tier 2'. Only if I select PBS Dependant Tier 1,2.. under Visa route, would it give me an option of 'Any other type of Tier 2'. No matter which VISA route I selected, I would not get ht eoption to add Tier 2 general under 3 years

I'm quite confused about the following:
1) Can variations between the main form and the IHS website pose issues or is the IHS website information used only to calculate the amount required to pay as the surcharge?
2) What visa route and visa type should go under the person the dependant is joining i.e. myself?

Based on the questions that we answered in the main application, it does seem to be the right one to use for my wife's visa application. However, the IHS website is the last hurdle before we can make the payment.

Your help/ guidance would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

The IHS website is there to calculate the fees. You must pay for 3 years worth of IHS. That is all
