Switching from Tier 2 to Ancestry dependant visa

Post by UKQ » Thu Oct 21, 2021 12:20 pm

I'm on a tier 2 visa. I have applied for an ancestry dependent visa and have my biometric appointment next week. I am looking to move employers and have received a job offer to start in January.

I have a few questions:
- How long does it take to process an ancestry dependent visa? I was not given the option for priority when applying.
- When do should I resign from my current employer?
- Does the 60 days start from resignation or from the last day of work?

Resign after you are granted the UK Ancestry dependant leave. Note that the eligible UK Ancestry holder’s ILR application may include the UK Ancestry dependant.

Feels safest to do that. My notice period is 2 months.
Do you know roughly how long the application takes to process?

Possibly 8 weeks?
