Fiance visa extension help

Post by rastrar21 » Tue Oct 26, 2021 8:37 pm

Hello everyone, I need a help with my fiancée visa extension. We were not able to get married within the 6 months. So, I looking to apply for an extension. When I tried to fill the online application form. It reach to a stage where I need to pay IHS charge, I think this is not correct. application is asking for 1560£ as IHS charge. Can anyone share their fiance visa extension experience, please? Do you have to pay IHS charge?

You cannot extend a fiance visa.

You are suppose to get married and then apply for the spouse visa.

Why could you not marry within the 6 months?

If you’re applying as a fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner
You must prove that:

any previous marriages or civil partnerships have ended
you plan to marry or become civil partners within 6 months of arriving in the UK

If your wedding or civil ceremony has been delayed because of COVID-19, you might still be able to request an extension or apply to extend your stay. Read the guidance for UK visa applicants and temporary UK residents.
I believe the IHS is payable, if not exempted. It depends on the period of leave to be granted.

i have an appointment to give notice of our marriage on 4/11/2021 but fiancee visa expiring on 4/12/2021. i had to wait for more than 2 months to get the appointment. she came to UK late because of travel restriction as her home country was in complete lockdown during that time. and i also found out that the venue for our marriage ceremony can only be held on/after feb/2022 from our district registration office.
so, please suggest can i apply for an extension?
