What is the tax system in UK? What if I have property oversea?

Post by mrsava » Fri Oct 29, 2021 9:26 am

Hey guys, hope it is not a stupid question.

I am recently planning my immigration to the UK, but I get confused knowing that I have to pay the so called "oversea tax"? (if you read chinese, the term in our language is 英國海外稅, not sure if I have translated it correctly haha).

Do I have to pay tax for owning a property in another country even it is not on lease? Or take a step backward, can the UK government really knows my financial status aboard? Thanks.

I think you may be okay, if you continue to be non-domicile in the UK.
