Hi - first of all thanks to provide me guidance on each step of my British citizenship journey.
I and my family got the British citizenship certificate yesterday and we would be applying for passport soon.
In the ceremony they mentioned to return the existing ILR BRP card to home office in 5 working days. I and my daughter have the BRP and will send it early next week.
My wife does not have BRP with her, we applied for our second child British passport (child born in uk after parents got ILR) and as part of my child passport application we have sent my wife BRP card for verification document.
As we don’t have the possession of the BRP , its with HMPO we can’t send it in next five days. The passport application is approved so hopefully we might get it back by end of next week but not sure.
Question - what should I do in this case? I can’t return my wife’s BRP now as I don’t have it in our possession, I need to wait until I get it from HMPO. Will they charge penalty? Please advise on my situation.
Anyone have similar or same experience, plz advise as well.
Thanks
Amit
