Spouse has applied for stamp4 fam eu, does stamp 1g need to be renewed

My spouse is a non eea national,I am an EEA national

After getting a master degree my spouse received a stamp 1G in December 2020 valid until December 2021, because they have a master's degree my spouse can renew the stamp 1G for one more year.

We got married last month and applied a few days ago for stamp4 fam eu.
My spouse has now has received a job offer that starts in December. Obviously they will not have a decision on their stamp4 application by then and the stamp 1g will expire soon.

Does my spouse need to renew their stamp 1G or would they be able to start employment while waiting for the stamp 4 decision if a temporary permission is issued by INIS?

Hey,

The difference between this stamps (1G and 4) is normally not really matter for HR departments as far as they providing "the right of work without obtaining of employment permit". The only thing they worry that this stamps have to be valid.
You can update the HR later with another stamp when received.

You have basically summarised the issue yourself. If INIS gives your spouse a temporary permission OR a decision letter before the expiry of the Stamp 1G, your spouse will be able to continue working without any issue.

If you worry that INIS may not issue a temporary permission before the Stamp 1G expires, then get the Stamp 1G renewed.
