CoS Number

Post by MeriemL » Tue Nov 09, 2021 1:24 pm

Hello,

I have two questions and would really appreciate your help, please.

My employer has just called me saying that a CoS has been issued for me, but they've only given me a number and said that HR did not send them a certificate yet.

1- Does the fact that they have a number mean that the CoS has been successfully assigned?

2- Can you apply for Skilled Worker Visa with just the CoS number or do you need to have the full certificate?

The CoS is only a number. When I do CoS's, I print the CoS as a pdf and send it to the migrant. Others simply give the CoS number, which is all you need plus the Sponsor number.

Thank you so much for you reply. So, all I need to ask for now is the Sponsor number?

When I start making the application will I be asked to provide details on the salary and start/end date of the contract? I have not been sent a contract yet.

CoS Mistakes (SOC Code and PhD Points)

Post by MeriemL » Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:49 pm

Good evening,

I need some help, please.

My employer issued me a CoS today and have now emailed me a PDF copy of it. On the copy there are a couple of mistakes and I'm really worried that these mistakes will cause issues in my Skilled Worker application.

1- SOC code used on the CoS is 2312 Further Education Teaching Professionals, however, I will be teaching in a secondary school, so shouldn't the code be 2314 Secondary Education Teaching Professionals?

2- What qualifies as new entrant? I graduated in 2020 and only worked on a fixed-term contract through an agency whilst on Tier 4 DES Visa, I thought this meant I would be regarded as new entrant, however, on the CoS next to New Entrant it says 'N'.

3- Salary on the CoS is 26K - would this get points?

4- I hold a PhD that is relevant to the teaching role I will be undertaking, but, on the CoS where it says "Is the worker claiming points for a PhD-level relevant to the job?" it says "N" - Shouldn't this be "Y" so I can score 10 points for the PhD?
