Can we apply Tier 2 Dependent Visa for lesser Duration than Main Applicant

Hi,
I recently switched from Tier 2 ICT to Skilled Workers visa. The employer sponsored only for me and I have to take care of my dependents visa & costs involved.
My Visa is valid for next 5 Years, but I do not have enough funds at the moment to pay for 5 years at once for my dependents.

Is it feasible to apply visa for a lesser duration (Preferably 1 Year or so) for my dependents initially and reapply later ?
Really appreciate your valuable inputs.

That's not an option. Try getting a loan from employer or banks?
