My ex-wife, a Slovenian citizen, was a UK resident from 2004-2012. In 2008, while she was a resident and working in the UK, she gave birth to our daughter in Slovenia (due to family support available there). At that time I was a UK resident on a 5 year visa and became a UK citizen only in 2011. She moved back to Slovenia in 2012 along with our daughter.
My daughter was 3 when she moved to Slovenia in 2012. While she lives in Slovenia, she regularly visits me (her father) here and considers UK her second home.
Looking at the govt website, it looks like my daughter is not eligible to become a British citizen because I was not a British citizen when she was born (although I was a resident here). https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-br ... -july-2006
Is there a way for me to cliam citizenship rights for my daughter? I'd highly appreciate your guidance.
Thank you
