Hi,
I have applied for a fiance visa and have been told by our local registry office that when giving notice of marriage, we need to provide proof of UK address for my fiance. Once her visa has been granted, she will move in with me (I live with my parents) and will not have any proof of address in formal documents.
The registry office suggested opening a bank account, however many of the banks I contacted apart from HSBC need proof of address themselves. HSBC suggested going in branch to discuss the situation as they accept a letter from a solicitor confirming proof of address where my fiance is staying. I will be going on my next day off work to seek more advice.
I have also requested the registry office send me a full list of accepted documents for proof of address, I am still awaiting this reply.
I am asking if anyone has been in a similar situation or have any suggestions. I would kindly welcome all replies.
Thanks in advance.
