ILR renewal

Post by Ibuwan » Sun Jan 09, 2022 4:48 pm

Hi there,

I'm seeking an advise re my ILR Card, which is up for a renewal in September 2022. My questions are :-

- How long prior can one submit their renewal form/application?
- What are the documents requires?
- Do we have to submit in person or by post?
- Do we need to submit new photo in the application?
- How much is the ILR renewal fee for 2022?
- How long does the renewal process take?

Appreciate if any of you can share your experience on ILR renewal.

Many thanks and God bless

Best regards,
Ibuwan

Here is the link to the BRP REPLACEMENT application:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... 1635257670
You are applying online for a new card, not renewal of ILR (note "indefinite") - the current fee is £56. The online system will advise you what documents will be required and you can book the biometrics appointment also. As to the documents required others may be able to comment.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply, but my ILR card is not a replacement as it is not damage, lost or stolen, it is merely come to and end of the expiry date, and does not not considered renewal? I'm a little confused.

Many thanks and perhaps others can also shed some lights or share their experiences?

Refer to the link in my post: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... 1635257670
Clearly your card still has a few months validity left, however with long processing times it's probably best to apply as soon as possible.

Quote:
Update, replace or transfer your biometric residence permit (BRP)

You can use this form to get a biometric residence permit (BRP) if you are in the UK and if:

your BRP or other immigration document is lost, stolen, damaged
your BRP or other immigration document has expired after you have received indefinite leave to remain
your UK visa is in a passport that is lost, stolen, damaged, or expired
you have changed your name, nationality, facial appearance, date of birth, or gender
you want to transfer or upgrade your old immigration document to a BRP
If your BRP has less than 3 months validity you may want to replace it now if you need to prove your right to work or rent or you are travelling outside the UK.

You do not need to apply for a replacement BRP if you currently have an application with the Home Office for further leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain.
