Work Travel

My work required me to travel outside of Ireland several times in a year. Which means I was out of Ireland (not in last year) for approx. 100 days in the year 2016 to 2018. I am planning to submit a letter confirming that my job profile required me to travel out of ireland. My travels were mostly short (few days in a week) but frequent.

Would this be an issue for my application? Anyone in comparable situation and managed to get thru the process?

From what I know, if you got a letter from your employer (on headed paper and all that) confirming your job involves travelling and on these and these days you had to travel for work, they don't really count as absences, as you didn't really have a choice.

As long as you have 1825 days of physical presence in Ireland on the date when you sign the declaration, your absences will not cause problem although you still need to declare them. But if you haven't accumulated that period of residence after deducting the absences, then I strongly recommend to wait 100 days to cover up for those absences. Considering that it is only 100 days, it's not worth risking the application being refused for that, as it's not guaranteed that the letter from employer will be considered as legitimate excuse.

Perhaps also certify/ confirm this with an affidavit from yourself to be extra safe.
