Valid visa until citizenship ceremony

Post by DrAAA » Mon Jan 31, 2022 5:10 pm

I have a couple of questions please.
I have tier 2 visa and my family on dependant visa
First when apply for ILR. If applying for dependents separately after my main application is approved. Should I apply for dependant visa of a settled worker or tier 2 dependant visa to ILR as there are two forms in this case.
Second; if I decided to wait and apply for citizenship straight away for my children. There visa has to be valid until the time of ceremony or until I make a citizenship application?

They apply for ilr on set O as PBS dependents.

If you children were born abroad, they need ilr first and should apply when your spouse does.

Thank you for your reply.

I have a friend of mine who applied for ilr for him and his wife and skipped ilr for his children then a year later applied for citizenship for all the family and the application got accepted. That is why I was planning to do the same.

It was done about 5 years ago so I am not sure if the guidelines changed since then.
