Skilled Worker Visa - Change of Employer

Post by arunmnair » Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:07 am

Hi

Im working in IT field in UK since Feb 2021 under 3 year skilled worker visa (valid until Feb 2024). Im planning to switch to a new job with an employer who's a UKVI listed sponsor for Skilled Worker Visa. I have the following queries:

1) When applying for Update/Change of Skilled Worker Visa from within the UK, do I have to show evidence of personal savings (eg. bank statements) again ?

2) Is there an expedited option available to get the visa decision faster ?

3) Will this process involve submission of biometrics again ? Will a new BRP be issued ?

4) My wife (on PBS Dependant visa) needs to travel outside the UK while Im applying for the above update to Skilled worker visa. I understand from the posts here that Wife's visa update can be done later. but is there any restrictions about her travelling outside the UK when Im applying to update my visa (from within UK) ?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1) No

2) Yes, you can pay for priority or super-priority services.

3) Yes to both

4) I guess she will be fine, since there won't be any pending application on her name

1. No if you have been in the UK for 12 months or more.
3. You may be offered an option to not attend biometric appointment but use a mobile phone app to scan your documents.

4. Should be okay.
Your partner or children will need to apply separately to update their visa. They can either apply at the same time as you, or at any time before their current visa expires.

Hi

I have a related question to the above discussion. I have seen in mutiple threads related to "change of empoyer" than it is safer to start the notice period in current firm AFTER getting the updated visa (new BRP).
So, is there any issues in serving the notice period with current firm when the visa has already changed to new sponsor ?

Serving notice period is allowed after getting the new visa
